The A7670 series is the LTE Cat 1 module that supports wireless communication modes of LTE-TDD/LTE-FDD/GSM/GPRS/EDGE. The A7670 series adopts an LGA form factor and is compatible with SIM7000/SIM7070 series(NB/Cat M modules), and SIM800A/SIM800F(2G modules), which enables smooth migration from 2G/NB/Cat M products to LTE Cat 1 products, and greatly facilitates more compatible product design for the customer needs. The A7670 series supports multiple built-in network protocols, supports drivers for main operation systems (USB driver for Windows, Linux, Android, etc.), and software function, AT commands are compatible with SIM7500/SIM7600 series modules. Meanwhile, the A7670series integrates main industrial standard interfaces, with powerful expansibility, including abundant interfaces such as UART, USB, I2C, and GPIO, which is suitable for main IOT applications such as telematics, surveillance devices, POS, industrial routers, and remote diagnostics, etc.
Once you connect the SIMA7670C modem using the USB to RS232 TTL converter or any other serial converter module, you need to find the correct COM port from the Device Manager of the USB to Serial Adapter.
Then you can open Putty or any other terminal software and open a connection to that COM port at 115200 baud rate, which is the default baud rate of this modem. Once a serial connection is open through the computer you can start sending the AT commands. When you send AT commands for example “AT” you should receive back a reply from the SIM800A modem saying “OK” or other response depending on the command sent.

I had tried a few different modules before this one, but couldn’t get them working. This particular module was convenient to work with. The tech team guided me perfectly for the setup and working of the module.
